I was this nerdy little kid reading about painters and dreaming about the places where they had lived and worked. So many of my favorite artists and favorite periods in art seemed to lead back to Paris. I always thought, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWouldn’t it be incredible to sit at a café there and paint someday?\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWhen I finally made it to Paris, I wasn’t going to travel all that way and leave my paints behind! I packed rolled canvas and art supplies, found a café, ordered some coffee, and started painting. There was music, conversation, people passing by, and the whole city moving around me. It was an experience I had imagined for years—and then suddenly, I was actually there.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI brought the canvas home and finished it in my Texas studio, carrying all that energy and color back with me.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis painting is a piece of that day and a dream I finally got to live.
